She is an American singer, actress, and producer. Gomez was born on July 22, 1992. She grew up in a Mexican-​American neighborhood. Sources say both her parents were age 16 when they gave birth to her in 1992.

She grew up going through a lot of difficulties because her parent got separated. Born and raised in Texas, she became famous in her teenage years by acting in the children’s television series “Barney & Friends” (2002–2004).

Her Career

As an actress and singer, she has featured in many movies and produced a lot of songs. Gomez took the lead role in the series movie entitled the network’s series Wizards of Waverly Place. By working with Disney Channel she had her breakthrough into the mainstream media.

Gomez formed her own production company in 2008, which she called July Moon Productions.

Selena Gomez has a long chain of relationships. Gomez dated Nick Jonas in 2008, Justin Bieber in December 2010. They broke up in November 2012, came together again as love birds, became on and off for a couple of years then broke up again.

Gomez doesn’t make claims of religion. She is open to having a relationship with God. Her faith is in God.

She was raised as a Catholic at age 13, she wanted a purity ring, so her father went to the church and had it blessed. Her father gave her the rudiments of a true Christian. So Gomez is a Christian who loves having a relationship with God.

She said:

“He actually used me as an example for other kids: I’m going to keep my promise to myself, to my family and to God.” Gomez stopped wearing the ring in 2010.

Selena Gomez openly came out in 2017 to say she did not like the term “religion” and that sometimes it “freaks me out,” adding, “I don’t know if it’s necessarily that I believe in religion as much as I believe in faith and a relationship with God.

In recent years she has been worshiping with Hillsong Church until something appalling happened.

Gomez quit worshiping in the Hillsong church because of some cheating scandal involving embattled pastor Carl Lentz in 2020.

According to her, she used to have a cordial relationship with the Christian family. She said she doesn’t have anything to do with them anymore because she was highly disappointed.
