How Denzel Washington Warned Will Smith About The Devil After Slapping Chris Rock

Will Smith has temporarily taken the world’s attention from the ongoing Russia’s war against Ukraine. He is the trending topic now after landing a heavy slap on comedian Chris Rock during last Sunday’s Academy Awards. Will Smith has finally apologized for the physical altercation during his Oscar acceptance speech for best actor.
Reports have revealed that Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry comforted him during a commercial break. In tears, Smith appeared to be remorseful for what he did to Chris Rock.
Why Did Will Smith Slap Chris Rock?
Smith became too emotional when Chris Rock cracked a joke about his wife’s alopecia disease. It’s an autoimmune ailment that causes bald patches on the scalp.
Smith’s Wife Jada Pinkett Smith felt uncomfortable the moment the Rock aimed at her health condition. Will Smith appeared to laugh at the joke initially but got angry… He then took action by walking up to Rock and slapping him across the face.
That was a big surprise Rock could hardly believe. Smith again warned him to stay out of his wife’s situation.
The video has been making airways on various social media platforms. Fans and the entire world have condemned him.You can watch it below on YouTube:
Denzel Washington Warned Smith To Be Careful Of The Devil
Despite the disgraceful action, Smith was awarded his first Oscar for his lead performance in the movie “King Richard.” He played Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard.
During his speech, the audience didn’t show much happiness because many had become down for his unjustifiable action. There wasn’t much celebration for his speech and award winning.
Within his speech, Smith revealed that Denzel Washington, himself an Academy Award-winning actor, warned him about the devil’s attacks. Smith failed to demonstrate his Christian values —hence allowing the devil to control him.
“Denzel said to me a few minutes ago, at your highest moment, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you,” Smith recalled.
“Love makes you do crazy things,” Smith said during his acceptance speech. The father of three compared himself to Richard Williams and how William fiercely defended his family.
“Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family. In this time in my life, in this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world,” Smith said with tears streaming down his face.
“I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people. And to be a river to my people. And I know to do what we do, you’ve got to be able to take abuse, and you’ve got be able to have people talk crazy about you. In this business, you’ve got to be able to have people disrespecting you and you’ve got to smile and pretend like that’s OK,” he continued.
Washington and Tyler Perry Comforted Will Smith
A post sighted on Twitter by Scottfeinberg has revealed that during the commercials break Washington and Tyler Perry comforted Smith:
“During the commercial break, Will Smith is pulled aside and comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who motion for him to brush it off. Will appears to wipe tears from his eyes as he sits back down with Jada, with Denzel comforting Jada and Will’s rep by his side.”
Many have been disappointed with Smith’s action on Rock. Because he has failed to prove what he says he is. He says to be a man of faith. His action did not reflect what a godly man should be.
In a previous interview with author, producer, and preacher DeVon Franklin, Smith was asked if he is a “man of faith” like his character, Williams.
“You can’t get where I get if you don’t love the Lord. You don’t get to sit how I sit, move how I move, if you don’t love the Lord,” Smith replied. “You’d be seeing a whole lot of other repercussions.”
Smith has officially sent an apology letter to Chris Rock. The Academy is waiting to have a final celebration of Will Smith’s action. He could be punished severely or be forgiven entirely because he is human and has accepted his mistake.
