Christian singer Anne has revealed the reason why she sang the ‘My Jesus’ song which has become a hit on Billboard’s top chart. She explained by saying her lovely brother called Jacob died in a car accident. That left an irreparable wound in her heart, but Jesus healed her of the pains.
Who Is Anne Wilson?
Anne Wilson is an American Christian musician and songwriter. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on February 21, 2002.
Wilson’s Hit Song My Jesus
Wilson released her single track “My Jesus” in 2021 through Capitol Christian Music Group. This song has become Anne Wilson’s breakthrough —making her reach number one on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart and Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
What Is The Reason Behind Anne Wilson’s Song ‘My Jesus’?
In a video posted on YouTube, Wilson explained the reason why she released the ‘My Jesus’ song by saying that; her brother named Jacob got killed in a car accident when she was young. It left her devastated and hopeless.
She said she was shocked at the news of the death of her brother. The grievance was too burdensome for her and her family; It was Jesus who comforted her by speaking to her. She said:
“I was in shock, I couldn’t even cry at that moment, it’s probably the most hopeless feeling in the entire world when you lose someone you love.
“It’s almost like you cannot take your next breath, I heard the Lord say to me so clearly, Anne are you going to trust me? Or are you not?
“So I said Jesus I trust you.”
“When you lose someone you love, there is a decision that has to be made.
“It is very easy to be angry at the Lord and blame him.”
Sometimes life becomes very hard for many Christians to bear. But just when it seems like all hope is gone, the supernatural intervention of God sets in to calm things down.
The story of Anne Wilson sounds like that of Katy Nicole who also finally overcame a chronic disease through the healing power of Jesus.
In the lyrics of Anne Wilson’s song, part of it reads:
“Are you past the point of weary?
Is your burden weighin’ heavy?
Is it all too much to carry?
Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus”
She started with some rhetorical questions to bring the attention of everyone to Jesus Christ who can do the impossible.
Wilson first sang her song publicly at her brother’s funeral. This inspirational story has become a stepping stone in her music career as a Christian.
She is encouraging anyone who is going through a similar tragedy by saying Jesus heals, restores and does the impossible.
